Description

The MRI program at Bay de Noc Community College prepares students to enter the career of medical imaging as a magnetic resonance imaging technologist. The program includes a rigorous curriculum of classroom, lab, and clinical education experiences in the Medical Imaging departments of hospitals and other health care facilitates, preparing the student for success on the national certification exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) https://www.arrt.org/Certification/Magnetic-Resonance-Imaging. All program courses in the program must be passed with a “C” or better to progress in the program.

All EPiC Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program partners are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission(HLC)

Requirements for MRIT Programs

The Consortium Clinic Coordinator will work with students to order a background check, drug screening, and immunization tracker. The cost for this paid for by students outside of the tuition costs, in the consortium tuition and fees. 

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program is offered through a partnership of Bay de Noc Community College and the following colleges: Kellogg Community College, Lansing Community College, Mid-Michigan Community College, Grand Rapids Community College, Southwestern Michigan College, and Westshore Community College

The six colleges established the Michigan Radiologic and Imaging Science (MRIS) Consortium, www.mwtec.org, for the purpose of sharing instructional resources to offer the MRI program. Each college enrolls students in that program under that college’s admission criteria and each awards the degree according to that college’s completion requirements.
