NURS 110 - Essentials of Practical Nursing Credit(s): 4 Contact Hours: 4
This course provides foundational knowledge to prepare the practical nurse for providing evidenced-based care to diverse patient populations across the lifespan within the framework of the nursing process. Current and historical issues and practices impacting the scope of nursing practice with a focus on understanding the role, scope of practice, and professional responsibilities and expectations of the practical nurse are explored. Officially accepted into the Practical Nursing Certificate program and following the required sequence of courses. This course is designed to be taken concurrently with NURS 106, NURS 109, NURS 111, and NURS 112.
To progress in the program, the student must maintain a grade of C or better in Practical Nursing program courses.
