3019 Intellectual Property Rights Policy

It shall be the policy of the Board of Trustees of Bay de Noc Community College to encourage creativity and innovation in the promotion of academic excellence and to improve communication about college activities and programs. Works, including without limitation materials/publications and inventions prepared or created by an employee or contractor within the scope of his or her employment or engagement constitute a “work-for-hire” solely owned by the College and not available for use without written permission of the College.

A work that is created by a Bay College employee outside the scope of his or her employment and without substantial support from the College-without use of facilities, supplies, personnel, technical support, commission or compensation-is owned by the developer/inventor, and may be used by the College with written permission.
