3010 Directed Study Courses Policy

It shall be the policy of Bay de Noc Community College Board of Trustees to make available Directed Study Courses involving one-on-one instruction, or small group instruction.  Directed Study courses must contain the same learning outcomes and objectives as the course curriculum approved by the Curriculum Committee and must be assessed with the other delivery modes of the course. Directed Study is not intended to accommodate situations of personal convenience.  Students who are permitted to take a Directed Study Course shall complete all outcomes identified in the course syllabus.

The College discourages the use of Directed Study Courses until all other options and alternatives for the student are exhausted.

Instructional Administrators shall be responsible for monitoring compliance with this policy.
