It shall be the policy of the Bay de Noc Community College Board of Trustees to prohibit the active commercial solicitation of college employees and students for any cause, including the selling of merchandise, generating contributions, or any activity on college property that is not specifically authorized and/or directly related to college business.
Active commercial solicitation shall be defined as the promotion or sale of products, merchandise, or services for the benefit or profit of individuals. Posting or distribution of non-work related materials (passive display) shall be limited to non-work areas, such as break rooms.
This policy does not apply to solicitation that will benefit not for profit organizations.
Exception approval may be granted by Institutional Advancement for classified postings (for sale notices, personal announcements, housing, etc.), advertisements for non-profit fundraisers, and for businesses that provide a service supporting of the educational mission of the College. Postings of this nature will be restricted to certain designated bulletin boards.
