4009 Board of Trustees Board Scholarship Policy

It shall be the policy of the Bay de Noc Community College Board of Trustees to offer scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors in our service area to honor and reward academic excellence in high school.
- One (1) Board Elite Scholarship to a graduating high school senior from Delta County
- One (1) Board Elite Scholarship to a graduating high school senior from Dickinson County
- One (1) Board Elite Scholarship to a graduating high school senior within our Central Upper Peninsula service area, including Delta and Dickinson Counties
- Six (6) Board of Trustee Scholarships

Graduating seniors with a cumulative high school GPA of at least a 3.8, as determined by the individual high school’s mid-point of their senior year, are invited to apply for the Board Elite and or the Board of Trustees Scholarships.

Recipients who have completed the fifth year of Early College will be eligible to apply for year-two only of the Board Scholarships.

A scholarship committee based on a predefined matrix selects recipients prior to awarding other Bay College and Foundation scholarships.
4009.4
The Board Elite Scholarships award up to $6,000 ($3,000 per semester) for tuition, fees and educational expenses for up to two years.

The Board of Trustees Scholarships award up to $4,000 ($2,000 per fall and winter semesters) for tuition, fees and educational expenses for up to two years.
4009.6
Board Scholarships are for Bay College students only, may be reduced by the amount of other tuition and fee specific scholarships or grants, are not transferable, and have no cash value.
4009.7 Board Scholarships Criterion:
- Board Scholarships are an incentive for students from Delta and Dickinson Counties and surrounding service areas with high academic achievement to attend Bay College and are not based on need.
- The Bay de Noc Community College Central Upper Peninsula service area includes the following high schools: Bark River-Harris, Big Bay, Carney-Nadeau, Crystal Falls/Forest Park, Escanaba, Gladstone, Iron Mountain, Kingsford, Manistique, Menominee, Mid-Peninsula, Nah Tah Wahsh, North Central, North Dickinson, Norway, Rapid River, Stephenson, Superior Central, and other recognized learning systems within Delta and Dickinson Counties.
- Students must be accepted in a degree-seeking program and attend Bay College by the first fall semester following high school or early college graduation, enroll full-time (12 or more credits), and comply with the admissions procedures of the College.
- Scholarships are renewable for the following winter semester and a second year (fall and winter semesters only) provided the student completes at least 12 credit hours per semester and maintains a 3.2 cumulative GPA at Bay College.
