This course will examine the dynamics of human interaction within correctional facilities. Human relations in general will be presented to establish a basis for more specific examination of the unique and complex situation found in corrections. The meaning and impact of culture will be explored as well as the causes and influence of prejudice on clients and corrections staff. Considerable discussion time will focus on values, ethics, and professional responsiveness. Prerequisite(s): CJUS 1100
