NURS 104 - Professional Nursing Readiness and Success Credit(s): 1 Contact Hours: 3
This course will provide nursing students the opportunity to develop skills, strategies and gain knowledge to assist them in successfully navigating the nursing program. Emphasis is placed on understanding the role and responsibilities of a student nurse, with a focus on expectations of communication, attitudes, behaviors, prioritization, and taking personal accountability for their success. Additionally, a focus is placed on ensuring all components of clinical compliance are met. Students will complete clinical compliance requirements which include BLS training and receipt of certification as part of successful completion of this course to ensure clinical readiness. Prerequisite(s): Must have a “C” or better in ENGL 101 , BIOL 213 , COMM 103 , and MATH 105 . To progress in the program, the student must maintain a grade of a “C” or better, in all program specific general education & required program courses.
