MUSC 220 - Music Theory

Music Theory is a course for the student interested in a music curriculum as a major or minor field of study. It is concerned with the theoretical concepts on which music is based, including melodic, rhythmic, harmonic, contrapuntal, and architectural factors. Three areas will be stressed: 1) written concepts, terminology, and notation; 2) exercises in music reading and sight-singing; and 3) practice in ear training and dictation. Prerequisite(s): MUSC 151 or permission of instructor
